Following a Time-tested Charism
and an Ancient Tradition

This community was established as a Religious Community of Diocesan Right under the vigilance of the Bishop of Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia.

Devoted to, and inspired by St Dominic - "Light of the Church and Teacher of Truth" - we strive to imitate him, and to incorporate into our lives the spiritual legacy bestowed by him on the Friars and Sisters of his Order - the Order of Preachers.

The "Mixed Life"
Because our origins are in the enclosed, contemplative tradition which evolved into a certain degree of active work in education, we lean towards the contemplative aspect of the Order's charism, while engaging in some apostolic work. We live, then, what St. Thomas Aquinas refers to as "the Mixed Life", having a monastic and contemplative life-style in common with the Contemplative Orders, and an apostolic outreach in common with the active Orders.

As members of the Association for the Promotion of Religious Life we aim to support and foster authentic Religious Life in Australia.

Our Location
We are not founded solely for the Diocese of Wagga Wagga, but are free to serve the Church wherever God may call us to do so. At present we are a small community, happy to pray and serve among the good Catholic community of St. Brendan's Parish, Ganmain, - near the city of Wagga Wagga, New South Wales.
We pray that in God's Providence we will receive good vocations so that we can extend the influence of our Dominican life to other parts of Australia.
